Obsessive Texting

Obsessive texting is often intertwined with dating and relationships. Being infatuated with a person that does not want to really communicate with you by phone much less get involved with you, is a major cause for obsessive texting problems.

Texting has its benefits in the sense that it can be a convenient and fun way to communicate on occasion. SMS messages also comes in handy if you are some place crowded or noisy where you cannot use your phone due to the noise or environment.

But for some people (dating singles in particular), texting has morphed from a convenient commucation method to become the crux of their relationship communications. Women especially don’t realize the signficance of their status with a man who only talks to them on text.

Women don’t realize when a man has downgraded her to some stupid form of communication and does not even like her enough to talk to her on the phone! For women, texting obsession can lead into go nowhere relationships and allot of social problems that they don’t even realize it.

Some men use text relegation as a means by which to control the level of actual intimacy in their relationship with you. And, women don’t get this. From a dating and relationship standpoint, women do not benefit from the text message style of dating life (but men dating several women at the same time often do). The less he is truly into you, the more you want to obsessively text him to create a fake sense of intimacy with him. After a while if you are not careful, he’s backing off and you are text pursuing and obsesssion is taking hold.

If you start to use texting to the point where it intereferes with your daily activities then texting has become your obsession. You’ll know you are obsessed if you are texting while driving, texting in the wee hours of the night instead of sleeping, or getting into text message wars with someone involving dozens if not hundreds of back and forth anger flamings or sexting texts.

If you are texting beyond the 5,000 texts a month boundry line then you are a true text message junkie. After a while you build a tolerance to the text messaging and you get a high off it, needed to text constantly throughout the day. The problem with obsessive texting is that you could be allowing yourself to become socially isolated by only texting. And the recipients will grow to hate your annoying guts too from all the incoming messages to their phone.

Face to face conversaions and actual phone calls are more real than texting stupidity. If text messaging is the primary way you communicate with a date, you may mistakenly think you are in a close relationship when you are not. Men use texting as a way to downgrade a relationship, keep it at bay, if not leave it completely. If you annoy a man you are dating he really won’t want to talk to you. He’ll also want to avoid being confronted about your status so he will conveniently force down your communication to text messaging.

If you are stupid enough to remain intimate with a man who is only communicating with you via text then rest assured while you’re on text with him the girl he is really interested in is getting his phone call. He has dialing fingers and he will use them, just not on you.

Recognize the signs of obsession on your end. Sending out more than 100 texts a day regularly indicates you have a real serious problem. Accepting men and/or relationships that conduct themselves on text air waves only makes you into a complete fool for love. Interference with daily activites from driving to working means you are obsessed.

I will tell you the one biggest warning flag that you are text obsessed. Ask yourself this question. Would this person pick up the phone if I were to call him or her? Does he or she pick up the phone to call you ever? If you are answering no on both these questions and still texting this person then accept it, you are officially text obsessed. The object of your text obsession is a man (or apha female) who is just not that into you. Ironically, your texting obsession may be the very thing that is driving them away!

Women do this too. Especially women who have many different options.

She will always leave me crumbs so that i can continue my pursuit. Never allow me to escalate. Always lead me on and then choke communication off. I find this to be a form of emotional abuse.

Sometimes I get so frustrated I think she has so much emotional power over me, what do I have? Well its really screwed up for me to say this, but I have physical power. She is able to inflict unlimited emotional pain upon me but I could never raise my hand against her.
